| Synergy
conducted a strategic assessment of sustainable
development and the extractive sector for
DFID's emerging policy team on extractive
industries. This work included policy-orientated
research; consultation of government; industry,
and NGO leaders in the UK, US, West Africa,
Southern Africa, and India; development of
a practical 'knowledge base' on mineral operations
in developing countries; and internal team-building
within DFID on this issue area. The output
is an assessment and set of recommendations
to guide DFID's investment in this area. |
